Renowned singer-songwriter, producer (and 1/2 of enigmatic duo Foxygen) Jonathan Rado will release his upcoming solo album For Who The Bell Tolls For December 1 via Western Vinyl. His first full-length solo album in over a decade, For Who The Bells Tolls For was written as a way of reckoning with the loss of two close friends and mentors – beloved record producer Richard Swift and illustrator/animator Danny Lacy. This is music of maximalist mourning – the album is deceptively playful, trading grief ballads for tongue-in-cheek and decidedly upbeat songs celebrating the impact Rado’s friends had on his life and work.
